History

Khorasan Electric Industrial Company (Afshar Nejad) was established in 1966 in the holy city of Mashhad. It was put into operation in 1967 as one of the first wire and cable manufacturers in Iran. The history of wire and cable manufacturing in the world dates back to 1880, which means it is more than 130 years old.

The history of Iranian wires and cables dates back to the years after 1283, when the first electricity factory was set up in Tehran. In the early years, all the wires and cables needed were imported from abroad. In the following years, bitumen-coated wires, fabric tape, and bakelite were produced in Iran.

After World War II, the founder of the Khorasan Electric Industrial Company (the late Ali Afsharnejad), who was a distributor of electrical appliances in Lalehzar, Tehran, and in the Arg, Mashhad, began producing the first bitumen-coated electrical wires in Mashhad. Later, the Khorasan Electric Industrial Company was established in 1966.

At its inception, Khorasan Electric Industrial Company used an Italian production line to coat stranded copper wires with PVC granules imported from Japan. A few years later, this activity was expanded and, under the supervision and continued cooperation with Japan, cable production technology was received and put into practice.

We are proud that Khorasan Electric Industrial Company (Afsharnejad) is considered one of the best in the production of wires and cables in the country after nearly half a century of activity. Excellent quality and production safety have been the mainstay of our work all these years. The company’s products include all types of low voltage wires and cables, including construction wires and cables, overhead cables, control and power cables with PVC and XLPE insulation, automotive wires, armored and unarmored shielded cables, concentric precision instrument, telecommunication, iPhone, fire and heat resistant and halogen-free.

Khorasan Electric Industrial Company was one of the first recipients of the Iranian Standard ISIRI (equivalent to European IEC 227) more than a quarter of a century ago. This company produces products according to customer requests and based on various standards such as VDE (German standard), IEC (international standard), BS (British standard), etc. The company also received ISO 9002 certification in quality management from SGS Switzerland in 2000.
This company, with its modern and advanced equipment and machinery, and up-to-date technical knowledge, is a pioneer in producing diverse and high-quality products. It has also been known for many years as the top producer in Khorasan Province and across the country. The company is currently operating with more than 450 employees and a capacity of over 30,000 tons per year. The current factory area is 40,000 square meters and the infrastructure is about 30,000 square meters.
